The Sr. Quality Assurance Engineer will provide functional leadership for all activities related to Quality Assurance/Quality Control for our CATS product lines, consisting of both domestic and international product lines. The successful candidate will ensure high performance and high availability products that exceed our customer’s quality standards. This is a key position with responsibilities spanning the full product lifecycle. The ideal candidate is an established, self-motivated leader with deep experience and a track record of successfully leading teams and leveraging repeatable processes to deliver high value.
Quality is the responsibility of every team member within the Strato organization. It is the role of this position to align and integrate quality across the organization.
In this role, you will:
Provide mentorship to support the quality discipline across the entire team
Evaluate our current-state approach and results, and define and implement innovative approaches to improve quality through the introduction of new technologies, systems, methods and controls
Lead ongoing process improvement efforts to ensure design, manufacturing and quality methodologies are effective, efficient, standardized and integrated.
Oversee a systemic and strategic audit of current quality systems, procedures and documents and provide a roadmap for “Best in Class” Quality reputation
Function as the primary interface to, and ensure timely response with customers on all CATS quality issues ensuring that Strato’s “Exceed the Need” reputation is maintained
Develop strategies for the continuous improvement of vendors, third party operators, their processes and the Strato selection process to assure the overall quality of products being supplied
Ensure maintenance of records and documents as required by customers and industry standards
Oversee Quality Assurance assets across the organization to provide complete transparency of the cost of QA/QC activities and the cost of non-conformance
Ensure compliance and successful audit experience with customer and industry agencies such as AAR and ISO
Ensure continuous improvement of QA/QC practices and procedures throughout Strato, Inc.
Active participation in industry professional associations including attendance at conferences and events
Participate in the selection process of vendors to assure best quality product.
Education, Experience and Qualifications:
Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or other technical discipline
Advanced degree and continuing Quality education preferred
10 years+ of increasing leadership responsibilities within heavy manufacturing industries
Experience leading quality assurance functions for manufacturing organization.
Experience leading, developing and being a member of high-quality teams that produce results
Proven success establishing and maintaining pragmatic quality assurance best practices
Demonstrated ability to help drive individuals and teams to perform at a higher level
Very strong communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively to technical and non-technical stakeholders
Experience supporting complex, fast moving development initiatives
Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills, able to work well under deadlines in a changing environment and manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously
Demonstrated ability to meet commitments, build consensus, negotiate resolutions, and garner respect from other teams

ABOUT THIS POSITION Auto Technicians maintain, diagnose, and repair automotive equipment (e.g., cars, light trucks, etc.) and related equipment that requires the mechanic to have a high degree of technical ability. Usually, repair jobs are assigned to technicians with only general instructions and inspected upon completion.
Currently, there are several vacancies in the Public Works Department for Automotive Master Technician which requires an ASE Automotive Master certification. This eligible list may be used by any department for any current or future vacancies over the life of the eligible list.

$19.77 (minimum) - $24.49 (maximum) hourly / $41,122- $50,939 annually.

Four years of full-time experience in the maintenance, repair and computerized diagnostics of auto equipment ---OR--- Associates degree in automotive technology from an accredited college plus two years of full-time experience in the maintenance, repair and computerized diagnostics of auto equipment. Graduation from an accredited automotive trade school may be substituted for six months experience. An equivalent combination of related experience and education may be considered. All positions require a motor vehicle air conditioning EPA section 609 certification within 45 days of hire. Some positions may require a state of Arizona Vehicular Emissions Inspector certification. Incumbents must provide their own hand tools, pneumatic tools, and toolbox. (Note: technicians are provided a tool allowance of $600 annually in September towards this purpose.) For some positions in the Aviation Department individuals will be required to pass an Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) medical examination and possess a class A Commercial Driver License with a Tank Vehicle Carrying Hazardous Materials (X) endorsement at the time of hire. Some vacancies may occur on second/third shift. Working irregular hours, shifts, weekends, holidays, and evenings may be required. All positions in the Aviation Department will be required to pass a Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) background check, and a City of Phoenix or other law enforcement agency fingerprint check prior to hiring. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS – The job requirements listed above, plus:
A minimum of 2 ASE certificates (A1-A8) is highly preferred. Experience working with alternative fuel systems to include but not limited to, CNG vehicle conversions, testing and repair Experience working with diesel fuel automotive equipment Experience working with hybrid vehicles Verifiable recent employment in automotive repair within last 5 years Knowledge in using fleet maintenance management software (i.e., Fleet Focus M4, M5, Faster Asset Solutions) to enter repair information HOW TO APPLY

ROLE OVERVIEW Bringing design driven concepts to market using your skill and experience in mechanical product design ensuring durability and robustness that meets M&D’s safety requirements.
Deploy engineering standards and design practices in support of the overall M&D product strategy.
Evaluate input from design engineers in collaboration and work at optimum output within the M &D Product Development process.
Utilize the same CAD platforms across our engineer teams, and in support of our key vendor base.
Support M&D’s continuous product and process improvement programs incorporating feedback loops to positively influence current and future mechanical designs.
Suggest/promote new technologies to help expand the capabilities of the development team in creating the products that take back Childhood and expand categories of M&D product.
Assess product design for leverage points in using mix materials (wood, plastics, etc) and suggest appropriate design inclusions and options including need for tools, fixtures and downstream critical controls of products that are accepted into the manufacturing process.
